The 2018 BigPatentData Awards (The “Patties”)

First, Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all made the resolution to use more data and less “gut instinct” in your prosecution this year 🙂

Next, since a new year means nothing if not a tidal wave of “best of” or “year in review” posts, I decided hand out “awards” to examiners and art units for their work in 2018. We were going to live broadcast from Music City Hall, but then I got a last minute advisory action for a ridiculous 101 rejection and decided I better stay here to work on the appeal brief.

The nominees were calculated based on actions mailed in 2018 for utility applications (sorry design patent people). So without further ado, here they are.
